Rodney W. Evans of Covington, age 53, died Friday morning, June 3, at his home. He was born at Danville, December 29, 1929, the son of Frances Baker Evans. September 21, 1963, he married May Lou Smith Merkel, who survives. An Air Force veteran, he served in Alaska and Texas for four years and worked for Olin Mathieson at Covington for 27 years. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Danville.
Also surviving are two daughers, Nancy Starkey of Covington and Janet, at home; his mother of Covington; and two grandchildren.
The body was taken from Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington to Holy Family Catholic Church for funeral services Monday morning. – thanks so much to S
